Haris M. Khalid (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. (Hons.) degree in mechatronics and control systems engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan, in 2007, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in control systems engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 2009 and 2012, respectively.,He is currently an Assistant Professor in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), Sharjah, UAE. He was an Applied Research Coordinator with Sharjah Campuses of HCT. In 2012, he joined the Distributed Control Research Group, KFUPM, as a Research Fellow. From 2013 to 2016, he was a Research Fellow with the Power Systems Research Laboratory, the iCenter for Energy, Masdar Institute (MI), Khalifa University (KU), Abu Dhabi, UAE, in an MI-MIT Cooperative Program with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA, USA.
